Considerations When Doing Trees Landscaping

People do trees landscaping as a hobby, as a way of beautifying the yard, or as a professional. However, you should make several considerations before undertaking tree landscaping. You should also check with your neighbor, especially if the trees will be tall or bushy. An important consideration before doing trees landscaping is the size of your yard vis-à-vis the trees you intend to plant. Some trees become so wide and others so bushy that they cannot fit into your yard. You can also get help from family members, friends, or neighbors.

You should always plant small trees. Small trees will cost you less than more mature trees and they will outgrow trees that are planted while they are more mature because small trees are established in their new home quickly and their root system develops much better. In most cases, a seedling will catch up and surpass a more mature tree in less than 10 years. Another important consideration before doing trees landscaping is the bylaws. As an illustration, in some places, you are not allowed to plant trees that grow a beyond a certain height, in others, you are not allowed to cut down some trees and in others, you are not allowed to plant trees that drain ground water. However, if these plants do not fit into your trees landscaping plans, cut them down.

Consider the type or category of tree you are planting. You should research on the ultimate size of the trees you are considering to prevent planting trees and then having to cut them down when they grow too tall or wide. If you want to beautify your yard, you should go for flowering/ornamental trees. You should research on the right fertilizer to use, the best time to plant, the right size of the seedlings, the cheapest place to get the seedlings, and on other relevant issues. Evergreen trees are green all year round and they are used to form a background for other plants such as shrubs, ornamental trees, and flowers. If you are interested in trees that will serve their purpose even in winter months, go for evergreen trees. Consider the existing trees when doing trees landscaping. The landscaper is in a good position to advise you on such things as the best trees to plant, the spacing required, and the right size to plant. If you want trees that will be green throughout the year, go for evergreen trees. You should always check the local bylaws with regard to planting and cutting down trees.
