How To Turn Your Balcony Into A Private Nook

If you ask any person what type of house he wants to build, in his mind, he will surely have a space where he can cozy up to a good book, or take long Sunday naps. In your house, you can turn your den into your personal space. However, the problem is that this takes so much space. And since the den is indoors, you will have to spend for the HVAC.

This is alright if you have the money, but if you don’t, you may go for other budget-friendly alternatives. Some people ignore the space in their balcony by using it to store bicycles or empty bottles . The balcony is a great room addition because it does not take up floor space because it is hanging. This is why most hotels put balconies as room extensions because it creates a feeling of space.

If you are still planning the layout of your house, you can add in the layout for the balcony. The balcony will not take up floor space, but then certain things have to be built differently if you are planning to have a balcony. Since balconies are usually built without roofs, they will be rained on.

Thus, you should see to it that rain does not come inside the main room. You should place a barrier in between the main room and your balcony to prevent rainwater from going flowing into the room. If the floor of the balcony and the adjoining room happens to be leveled, you should build a rectangular concrete barrier. However, this can be a nuisance at times. Because if you fail to watch where you are going, you can trip on it.

Lining the rails with plants will make the balcony look more beautiful. Potted plants can be placed or a concrete rectangular box can be installed permanently. You can turn your balcony into just about anything you want. If you paint as a hobby, you can turn into your studio, but you will have to have a roof installed. You may also turn it into a small outdoor gym if you are a health buff.
